Thank you for signing up for this year’s Andean Health bike ride! We loved hearing your stories and seeing your photos last year. We can’t thank you enough for the outpouring of support from you and your friends and family during a very tough time for Ecuador (and the world) last year.
I’m sending you some details about this year’s “AHD Satellite Community Rides” which will take place any time between August 21 and September 19.
Visit the AHCT Forum
This website features a forum where you will get alerts (and cajoling/harassment) from the Andean Health Cycling Team (AHCT). Instructions on how to register for the forum are here. Once your ride gets underway, you’ll want to post your photos, mileage, elevation, and ride experiences on the forum. Click on FORUM at the top of the page.
AHCT Fundraising
This annual ride started 10 years ago to raise funds and awareness for AHD’s healthcare work in rural Ecuador and has since raised $3 million! This year’s goal is $500,000. Please help us in any way you can to spread the word. Fundraising information and email templates to send to friends/family are available here. All team names will be added to the our donate page‘s dropdown menu so your friends can select your team, and funds collected will be attributed to your team’s fundraising goals. We’ve already raised $138,996 from cyclists, their friends and families. Huge thanks for getting our 2021 goal off to a great start!
2021 AHCT Leadership & Point-of-Contact
I will be on maternity leave during this year’s ride, so I’m sorry to miss all of the fun! I can still answer your questions for now, but AHD Development Assistant, Alicia Acker, will be the main AHD contact for the Satellite Community Rides. She can assist with the forum and help you post your photos, mileage, locations from your days/weeks of riding. alicia.acker@andeanhealth.org
Team Recruitment
It’s not too late to add riders to your team. New team members in 2021 will receive the custom coffee mug with team logo that we sent last year! (New signups won’t receive the jersey unfortunately because the deadline has passed, and we can only order in bulk.)
2021 Jerseys
Your jerseys should arrive in late August at the mailing address you submitted (for signups before 7/2). I know there were some delays last year, but I think we are on schedule this time so that everyone can ride and take photos with their magnificent AHCT jerseys.
